Install YMusic APK on Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo without errors
Step-by-step install for the phones people actually own in India and Indonesia, including MIUI, ColorOS, and Samsung unknown-sources settings.
Most install problems are not about YMusic. They are about the phone maker hiding the “install unknown apps” switch. The APK is small. The settings path is the hard part.
Samsung (One UI): open Settings → Security and privacy → Install unknown apps. Choose Chrome or your Files app, then allow. Download the APK, tap it, and confirm. If Play Protect warns you, read the screen. You can scan the file first. Only continue if you trust the source.
Xiaomi / Redmi / Poco (MIUI or HyperOS): you may need to tap the Android version several times to unlock extra settings, then allow installs from the browser. Some MIUI builds also ask you to turn off a “MIUI optimisation” toggle for sideloading. After install, give YMusic notification permission so the background player can show media controls on the lock screen.
Oppo / Realme (ColorOS): Settings → Security → More security settings → Install unknown apps. Allow your browser. If the install button is grey, open the Files app and tap the APK from Downloads instead of the browser snackbar.
Vivo / iQOO: look for Install unknown apps inside Security or Permission manager. Funtouch OS sometimes blocks installs until you sign in with a Google account and wait a minute. Be patient. Then open the APK again.
After it opens, search a short song you know. Turn on audio-only. Lock the screen. If music continues, the install worked. If Android kills the app, go to battery settings and set YMusic to Unrestricted or Don’t optimize. This one toggle fixes most “stops after 2 minutes” complaints on Indian and Indonesian ROM skins.
